Christmas Prep in
This weekend we decided to start some new Christmas traditions. We put up our tree, baked cookies, danced and sang like holiday fools…we had a wonderful time. Woke up Saturday morning and decided that it was time for the Christmas tree, so we fought with the box to get it out of the garage. The box almost won I tripped over the recycling bin. Finally we got it into the house, and started the daunting task of putting it up and “fluffing” it out. We took a break for lunch, during which time the cats decided to attack the tree, they bent the bottom branches down…which is not an easy task (mental note: feeding cats too much)!
After lunch we embarked on the trip through Chipmunk-land. According to me, listening to Alvin & the Chipmunks Christmas CD is a requirement when decorating the tree. So by nap time our arms were completely scratched, and we had glitter on every part of us. It was great! There is nothing better than creating holiday memories with your child.
Sunday we decided to bake cookies…ALL DAY! We made four different kinds of cookies (my idea). Of course this created tons of dishes that had to be done by hand. So by the end of Sunday my hands looked like prunes and my arms were beautiful shades of red and white. I only burnt myself once on the arm, but it left a festive looking red blister.
All in all…a great weekend! ![]() Design by Hofmeister Design
