Cloth vs. disposable
Disposable diapers are obviously the most convenient, big points there. Although disposable in the end, are more costly. They also contain chemicals, unless you buy the organic ones, and we don’t want chemicals around our children do we? Most people do choose this route because of the convenience. If you decide to go with disposable try the chlorine free diapers that can be found at your local co-op and even some regular grocery stores. My favorite is the store brand at Whole Foods. Cloth diapers are the safest way to go, but are more work. Initially you have to buy quite a few, and decide if you want to use a diaper service or wash them yourself. If you are squeamish you might want to go with a diaper service. Cloth diapers have come a long way though, now there are disposable inserts that you can purchase. The traditional diapers with covers are no longer necessary. Now there are all-in-one type diapers that are soft and absorbent on the inside and have a waterproof liner. They look like training pants, and the best part is no more pins! If you are not sure, you can just try them out for FREE, yes I said FREE. There is a non-profit called Teeny Greenies that lends out cloth diapers for free to try. ![]() Design by Hofmeister Design
